Summer Craigslist Roadtrip: Santa Fe!

I took the "re-do" part out of the title for this post because I am stunned at the beauty I found in Santa Fe, New Mexico. 

A major city in the arts, Santa Fe was the hometown of Georgia O'Keefe and Cormac McCarthy. This place knows what it's talkin' about and it's residents sure do know how to post their refuse online. 

I'm salivating for the following pieces, and there isn't a damn thing I'd do to any of them...except for one...and you'll see when you get there. 

First, I need you to see this one: 

I think it's a spool chest...mostly because it says "spool cotton" on two of the drawers. I want it so badly.

Look. at. this. sweetie. pie.

When I look at this, I don't even think about what I'd put on it or next to it or in it or anything. I just want it to be in my life, but it's in Santa Fe.

This next one is straight out of a big old hacienda kitchen where someone lovingly sifted flour for tortillas.

I want to fill those 5 little drawers with handwritten recipes that have been passed down through the generations and have funny little stains and sugar crystals stuck on them. Sadly, I'm not a character from "Like Water for Chocolate", nor do I have recipes from any generation, but if I did, they'd have sugar crystals stuck on them.

Maybe if my name was Aureliana or Candelaria, I'd make some home made cocktails with limes and simple syrup and put them in little colorful glasses and serve them to my guests on this little piece of heaven...

 

Again, not a thing I would do to it. Except maybe spray paint the metal a better bronze...or dare I say...aqua???
